Bowie Gridley Architects Announces New Associate Principal and Associates

Bowie Gridley Architects is pleased to announce that Leon Chatelain III, AIA has been named Associate Principal. Leon joined the firm in 2012 bringing more than 40 years of national and international experience in educational and institutional planning and design. His current project experience includes the new middle school at Flint Hill and a new restaurant for the Great American Restaurant Group.

David Marks, AIA, has been named Senior Associate. David joined Bowie Gridley Architects in 2003.  He earned his Master of Architecture degree from Rice University, and received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Maryland.    His recent project experience includes Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia, the School of Communications at American University, and the Natatorium at Mercersburg Academy.

Pavel Zhurov, RA, has been named Senior Associate. Pavel has more than 35 years of experience and has served as the lead designer on a wide range of complex educational, cultural and civic projects throughout the U.S. and abroad. His recent and current projects include the St. John Student Center at Choate Rosemary Hall and the renovation of Milton Hershey School’s Founders Hall.

Robert Allen, AIA, LEED AP, has been named Senior Associate. Robert has over 35 years of experience in planning and design for educational, cultural, and governmental institutions, including work with schools and universities throughout the U.S.  He received both Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees from The University of Detroit and his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Recent projects include the King Abdullah Academy and Milton Hershey School Founders Hall project.

Michael Wnuk, RA, LEED AP BD+C has been named Associate. Mike joined the firm in 2003 and has worked on a variety of projects including both independent and public schools and higher education facilities.

Heather Wnuk, RA, LEED AP BD+C, has been named Associate. Heather joined the firm in 2004 and has worked as a project architect on a variety of community-based centers, educational campuses, and sports facilities for public and private institutions.

Sheena Wester, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been named Associate. Sheen joined the firm in 2013 and has over 10 years experience. She has worked on a variety of institutional projects that include K-12, higher education, and recreational.

Sang Yi, AIA, has been named Associate. Sang joined the firm in 2009 and has over 20 years experience. He has served as project architect on a variety of educational, institutional and residential projects.

Sarah Naranch, AIA, LEED AP, has been named Associate. Sarah has over 15 years experience and has served as project architect and BIM Manager for the firm.

Ben Russin, AIA, LEED AP has been named Associate. Ben has over 20 years experience and has served as a project architect on a variety of K-12 projects. Currently he is on the team for the new middle school at Flint Hill.
