Marketing Coordinator

Bowie Gridley Architects is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team as we look to grow our award-winning architectural practice located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. BGA is dedicated to institutions that give back- specializing in work for facilities like schools, performing arts venues, libraries, and museums that better our community and culture. This new team member will be an important part of our growth, working closely with the Marketing Manager and senior staff to evolve the firm’s marketing efforts in support of our larger mission.

The Marketing Coordinator will support strategic marketing and communications activities for our firm. We are looking for someone with a creative background that emphasizes writing and editing in support of a range of communications materials; graphic skills are a plus. The Marketing Coordinator’s duties will focus on the development of proposals, qualification packages, presentations, and other collateral and content. He/she will also contribute to promoting the firm’s brand, helping with overreaching initiatives like a social media strategic framework, editorial calendar, or messaging campaigns. Finally, the Marketing Coordinator will also take on department administrative duties, including organizing marketing files and artifacts, managing the photography library, and maintaining marketing databases.

An ideal candidate will enjoy working closely with a small team and collaborating with multiple senior stakeholders as well as taking ownership of individual initiatives and projects. In addition, the candidate must be comfortable juggling shifting and competing priorities and managing multiple projects under deadlines. The Marketing Coordinator will work for the Marketing Manager.

Required + Preferred Experience

  • B.S. or B.A. required, degree in English or Writing preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in general marketing and/or communications
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction industry is ideal; experience in technology, consulting, or other professional services industries is also a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Acrobat required; knowledge of InDesign and the rest of the Creative Suite a plus


  • Write and design proposals, qualification packages, and presentations
  • Write and design case studies, sales decks, collateral and other supporting materials for sales, capture and campaign efforts
  • Support conferences and events, update website copy, draft social media postings, coordinate photo shoot logistics and artifacts, track and coordinate sponsorships and advertisements, and contribute to PR efforts like press releases and editorial calendar development
  • Conduct market and client research as part of target client and key opportunity qualification
  • Coordinate contact lists and marketing databases, folders and files
