Bowie Gridley Architects Announces Promotion: Michael Kerr Named Firm’s Newest Associate

Bowie Gridley Architects announced that Michael S. Kerr, AIA, has been named an Associate of the firm.   Since joining the firm in 2008, he has served as Project Architect on the award-winning Dolley Madison Library in Fairfax County, and participated as a member of the design team for the new Arlington Wakefield High School currently under construction in Arlington, VA and Classroom Modernization Program for the Arts & Technology Academy.  Mr. Kerr earned his Master of Architecture degree from Washington University in Saint Louis, and his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California – Berkley, College of Environmental Design. Leon Chatelain Joins Bowie Gridley Architects

Bowie Gridley Architects is pleased to announce that Leon Chatelain III, AIA, has joined Bowie Gridley Architects as a Senior Consultant.  He brings more than 40 years of national and international experience in educational and institutional planning and design from his tenure leading Chatelain Architects, which was founded in 1930.

“We are very pleased that Leon has decided to join our firm.  We have respected his work and the work of his firm for decades,” said Bill Gridley, a founding partner of Bowie Gridley Architects.

Bowie Gridley Architects, established in 1981, specializes in work for institutions of community significance.  Projects include academic, science, and student life facilities, performing and visual arts centers, libraries, athletic and recreational facilities, museums and cultural centers.  The architecture, planning and interior design firm is based in historic Georgetown and works with clients throughout the U.S and abroad. Current international work includes projects in Paris, Tanzania, Beirut, and Istanbul.

Luck Leadership Center Opens to Students at St. Christopher’s School, Richmond

The new Luck Leadership Center at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia officially opened on January 3 with the inauguration of the Ryan Dining Hall.

The building is a unique blend of tradition and cutting-edge technology that will foster collaborative learning and student connections with faculty and the broader school community.
