Thursday, November 1st, 2012

Richard Salopek, AIA, Principal with Bowie Gridley Architects and Project Manager for the new Student Center at St. Christopher’s School, Richmond, VA, announced today that the project was awarded LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Designed to fit within an existing Georgian-style campus, the new Student Center enables St. Christopher’s School to realize both quality and variety of academic, social, and community experiences. A new main dining hall anchors the building and serves as a venue for community gathering events.  The building is ringed with outdoor terraces and porches which bring activity outside and link the building with adjacent outdoor spaces.

Bowie Gridley Architects worked with Sustainable Design Consulting of Richmond, Virginia, who guided the team in achieving LEED Silver Certification for the project.
