APS Wakefield on Schedule for 2013 Completion

Principal Paul R. Lund, AIA, led a tour of the new Wakefield High School for the Arlington Public School Board and County Board members last week. The new 400,000 sf building, targeted to achieve LEED Gold Certification, is on schedule to be completed in the summer of 2013. With the steel structure in place, the facility has begun to take shape.

 

Rich Salopek Elected Vice President of McLean Planning Committee

Richard S. Salopek, AIA, Principal, Bowie Gridley Architects, was elected Vice President of the McLean (VA) Planning Committee (MPC) and will serve in this capacity for a one-year term. Salopek is former MPC President (2010-2011) and has been a member of the McLean Planning Commission since 2003. The MPC is comprised of sixteen members: four each from the surrounding Homeowner Associations, the McLean Citizens Association, the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, and the McLean Commercial Landowners Association (downtown business owners). MPC reviews proposed development proposals in the McLean central business district and makes recommendations to the Dranesville District Supervisor.
